Naturtint strives to remove as many chemical ingredients as possible from its formulations, but like other permanent hair colors, it contains hydrogen peroxide and p-phenylenediamine (PPD). PPD is one of several synthetic pigments used in hair dyes that are classified as skin sensitizers and can cause severe allergic reactions in some individuals. Hydrogen peroxide may also cause irritation with prolonged exposure.

If you experience any signs of sensitivity or an allergic reaction—such as itching, tingling, burning, or a rash—stop using the product immediately and consult a medical professional (such as a dermatologist).

These symptoms are your body’s way of signaling that the product may not be right for you.
